For some Digital Student ID EasyCards, the amount of money available is set to "minus NT$100 ". Such Digital Student ID Cards need to be topped up before they can be used and NT$100 or more must be added to the value of the card for the first time, of which $100 becomes the deposit. The deposit will be refunded on return of the ticket.
The Digital Student ID Card deduction method which applies to the Digital Student ID EasyCardCard deduction requirements, but if the student has graduated and the validity period of his/her student status has expired, he/she shall be charged at the rate of the ordinary EasyCard. Important Notes on the Use of the Opening of Taoyuan Airport MRT Commemorative Ticket

The ticket type and the descriptive card will be a One-day Souvenir Ticket and the cardholder may use the ticket for an unlimited number of times during its validity period (one day). This ticket can only be used on the Taoyuan Airport MRT and not for transfer to other vehicles. In case of loss or damage to the card, it cannot be reported nor will a new one be reissued. This card does not have a stored-value function and no subsequent purchase can be made. There is no refund for this Opening Commemorative Ticket.
Validity period: From the time of its activation to the end of the business hours of the same day. (Must be activated before December 31st, 2017)
Transaction data query: The cardholder can use the "Card Balance Inquiry Machine" to check for the last six transactions. For transactions other than the last 6 transactions, the cardholder fills an application form at any Station Information Counter and upon receipt of a notice by the Company to collect the information at your designated station, you will pay NT$20 for handling charges and an extra charge of NT$5 per additional page upon collection of your requested information.
The ticket is a non-contact smart card. To use it, tap the sensor area on the Automatic Fare Collection Gate with your ticket and the gate will automatically open after the validity of the card is confirmed. There is no limit as to which type of trains can be used with the Commemorative Ticket. Except for the reasons which can be imputed to the company, the time limit for entering the payment area through the automatic toll gate to leaving the paying area shall be as follows. If there is a violation of the regulations, the lowest fare of a Single-Journey Ticket shall be paid. The maximum time limit is 2 hours. In and out of the same station, the maximum time limit is 15 minutes. During the period of validity of the Commemorative Ticket, it can be used in an unlimited number of times. Therefore, compensation will not be paid if the trip is suspended due to injury or other personal reasons. If the card is in good appearance and no damage, please fill in the application form at the Station Information Counter and use it for travel within the designated station area on the same day for an unlimited number of times.
In case of any amendment, addition or deletion, the Company will announce the change, terms and effective date on its website and at the station. Unless otherwise stipulated in this Notice, the rest shall be handled in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Company's Passenger Transport Regulations.
Passengers can check the validity period of the Periodic Tickets through 2 channels:
Every time a passenger enters or exits a gate, the gate screen displays the remaining number of days.
Passengers can use the station "Card Balance Inquiry Machine" to check the card usage records and the validity period. If you find it difficult to operate the Machine, you can ask for assistance from the Station staff.

If a passenger leaves midway instead of exiting at the destination station on the ticket, is there any refund of fare for the unused section?
If a passenger commences or terminates a journey at the midway station of the section on which the ticket is recorded, the fare for the section not traveled is not refundable and the untraveled section cannot be used with the same ticket unless the reason for terminating the journey midway is attributed to the Company.
For example, if a passenger buys Single-Journey Ticket from Taipei Main Station to Airport Station but exits midway, at New Taipei Industrial Park Station, the fare for the unused section between New Taipei Industrial Park Station and Airport Station shall not be refunded.
Refund Amount = (Price paid at the time of purchase of Periodic Ticket) - (Total full fare ticket amount between designated stations ×number of days × 2 trips per day) - refund handling charges.
In case there is not enough amount for deduction, no refund shall be granted.
For example: Suppose you purchase a 30-day a Periodic Ticket for A1-A10, the price of your ticket is NT$3,258. The A1-A10 full fare ticket being NT$120:
Hypothetical Scenario 1: You buy your ticket on September 1 and start using it immediately. You return the ticket and ask for a refund on September 6 (after 6 days of use):
Refund amount = NT$3,528 - (NT$120 × 6 days × 2 trips) - Refund handling charges NT$20 = NT$2,068
Hypothetical Scenario 2: You buy your ticket on September 1 and start using it immediately. You return the ticket and ask for a refund on September 22 (after 22 days of use):
Refund amount = NT$3,528 - (NT$120 × 22 days × 2 times) - Refund handling charges NT$20 = <0. No refund is possible.
After the Periodic Ticket is refunded, it will be locked and it cannot be used to make a subsequent purchase. If you need to use a Periodic Ticket, you will need to re-apply for a new one. It is recommended to use the Periodic Ticket until the end of its validity period.
Periodic Ticket is limited for a refund to within its validity period. If the expiration date of the validity period is September 30, 2016, please return the ticket to the station before September 30, 2016. The Company will refund the remaining amount to the passenger, calculated in accordance with the refund policy. However, the refund fee will not be granted if the refund amount is not sufficient. (Since the amount of refund is calculated on the basis of the number of days the ticket was used, it is recommended that application for refund be processed as soon as possible to avoid any loss if it is confirmed that the ticket will be no longer used.
Taking a 30-day Periodic Ticket as an example, the calculation method of the validity period is as follows:
Ticket purchase: from the first day of use after purchase (note the ticket must be used within 30 days of purchase) till the end of the business hours of the 30th consecutive day.
Hypothesis: A passenger buys a ticket on August 15th and he/she uses it for the first time on September 1st. Hence, September 1st is the first day of the validity period and the expiration date would be September 30th.
Subsequent purchase: If a subsequent purchase is made within the period of validity of the previous ticket purchased, the validity period of the new ticket shall start right after the end of the validity period of the previous ticket. However, if a subsequent purchase is made after the end of the validity period of the previous ticket purchased, the validity period of the new ticket shall be counted as from the first date of use of the new ticket till the end of the business hours of the 30th consecutive day.
Hypothetical Scenario 1: The previous validity period of the passenger's ticket is September 1 to September 30 and he/she can make a subsequent purchase as from September 21. Supposing he/she effectively makes a purchase on September 22 at the Station Information Counter; therefore, the validity period of this new ticket will be from October 1 to October 30.
Hypothetical Scenario 2: The previous validity period of the passenger's ticket is September 1 to September 30 and he/she effectively makes a purchase on October 15 at the Station Information Counter but uses the ticket for the first time on November 1; therefore, the validity period of this new ticket will be from November 1 to November 30.
Is there a limit on how many tickets one passenger can purchase at the Single-Journey Ticket vending machine?
Passengers can only buy a maximum of 10 Single-Journey Tickets at a time. If they need to buy more than 10 tickets, it is suggested to buy Group Tickets at the Station Information Counter, which is available with a discount of 20%.
Though there are Express and Commuter trains, the traveler is charged the same fare.
